Shar Mitchell created this scholarship fund in memory of her late husband, Dr. Redwan Moqbel. A renowned medical scientist and mentor, Redwan encouraged his students to adopt a “noble goal.”
The Dr. Redwan Moqbel Scholarship will be awarded annually to a medical science graduate student studying in Canada who has completed his or her undergraduate studies in the face of adversity, such as coming from a war-torn society, or belonging to a group that is internationally recognized as discriminated against or persecuted. The Association for Baha’is Studies will honour Dr. Moqbel’s mentorship through its active participation in awarding these scholarships.
All gifts to this fund will be pooled and invested with other endowment funds at The Winnipeg Foundation. The generated income from this fund will be distributed as scholarships. As the original gift remains invested, your contribution will continue to benefit scholarship recipients in perpetuity.
